Scope Surveys has recently been commissioned to create a historical record of a site in Kent. This comprised of listed Medieval ruins including a dam and buildings that are scattered over an area of a former landscaped garden by the famous 18th  century landscape architect Capability Brown.

The project deliverables include a colourised point cloud, topographical survey with detailed tree information, and a drone video recording of the site.

As the majority of the site consisted of a wooded area, the laser scanning in colour was more challenging than in a usual urban setting.

The use of a Leica P40 laser scanner in combination with the NCTech iSTAR 360 HDR  camera proved to be a great choice for working in a leafy environment with challenging light conditions.

The project undertaken was exceptionally interesting and the client was very pleased with the work delivered.
